Well, it looks like they finally fixed at least two of the four the undersea cables that were cut. My understanding is that an abandoned anchor was the culprit. In any case my download speed for usenet is back to a respectable speed. Files that were taking as long as 45 minutes are now downloading in five or less. Definitely an improvement.
